| J&K Gaddi Sippi Congress Union held a meet, discussed various issues | | |

JAMMU, April 22: A meeting of the all J&K Gaddi Sippi (ST) Congress Union” was held at Jammu under the chairmanship of its state president P S Chouhan. The meeting was attended by a large number of community members and office bearers of the union.
While addressing the meeting President P.S.Chouhan asserted that Jammu & Kashmir has witnessed unprecedented development during the regime of Congress led coalition government. Many developmental projects, schemes and policies have been launched for the overall development and prosperity of the state, especially for the upliftment of underprivileged and downtrodden sections of the society like Gaddi Sippi.
Chouhan appealed the community members and office bearers of the Gaddi Sippi tribes to join, support and strengthen the Congress party.
In this meeting speakers highlighted the various burning issues and long pending demands of the communities and also suggested their remedial measurers. T
he main demands projected included establishment of an Advisory Board for the development of Gaddi & Sippi Tribes, till this board is established representation should given to Gaddi & Sippi Tribes in “Gujjar & Bakerwal Advisory Board”, establishment of Hostel facilities for the students of the community and restart of prematric scholarships for them, recognition of Gaddi language in VI scheduled of the Constitution of Jammu and Kashmir, enhancement in the reservation quota in professional colleges of the state for these communities and political reservation for STs at par with SCs.
It was also demanded that the special recruitment drive for candidates of Gaddi & Sippi Tribes in Sheep/Animal Husbandry departments, keeping in view their avocation of rearing goat and sheep.
