| 4 PDP zonal presidents resign in protest’ | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Srinagar, Apr 18 (KNS): Two days after Peoples Democratic Party expelled its two zonal presidents in Srinagar, four other zonal presidents of the party Friday tendered their resignations in support of their expelled colleagues. The PDP had expelled Haji Parvez Ahmad zonal president Amira Kadal and Nisar Ahmad Mandoo from Habba Kadal on Wednesday. In protest, Noor Mohammad Sheikh, Haji Ali Mohammad Wani, Mohammad Shafi Kundangar and Ghulam Ahmad Kathoo, zonal presidents of Batamaloo, Eidgah, Khanyar and Hazratbal respectively resigned from their posts on Friday.“Senior leaders in the party have been humiliated at the cost of new comers. We can’t tolerate this injustice. So we have decided to resign from our positions, the zonal presidents told KNS.They alleged that the PDP has those people have taken lead roles in the party have joined politics either to evade tax payments or to save themselves as they were involved in land scandals.Former Finance Minister and senior PDP leader, Tariq Hamid Karra had also last week in an interview with KNS alleged that the party leadership had sidelined the veterans.
