SKIMS to hold 16th postgraduate research presentation program | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, Apr 22: SKIMS is holding its 16th Postgraduate Research Presentation Programme on April 22-23rd. Around 70 research papers are presented in this programme. A legendary medical teacher Syed Naseer Ahmad Shah, who was the chief guest on the occasion, emphasized the role of research in improving the health care particularly the role of research which is of local and regional importance. Girja Dhar who was the guest of honour reiterated that while continuing medical research we should not forget the role that clinical skills play in managing the patients which happens to be the main job of the medical fraternity. On this occasion Mohammad Maqbool, organizing chairman welcomed all the guests and gave details of the programme that will unfold in these two days. Director SKIMS, Abdul Hamid Zargar, enumerated the commendable research work that has been done at SKIMS in the last three decades of its existence and role this research has played in improving the standard of health care in the State. Zargar appreciated the role of faculty and para-medical staff working at SKIMS in ensuring the optimal medical care and standard medical education. On this occasion Dean Medical Faculty M. A. Darzi put-forth the detail of the degrees – Graduate, Postgraduate, Post-doctoral awarded at SKIMS and informed the audience that most of these degrees have been approved & recognized by the Medical Council of India in the last two years. On this occasion principal SKIMS-MC, Mushtaq Ahmad, former directors M. S. Khuroo, Mehrajuddin, former deans M. A. Wani, N. A. Wani, Imtiyaz Ali, senior faculty members, students and employees of the Institute were present.
