He is also demanding appointment of blind (qualified) persons as managers of the blind institutes who understand the circumstances and the situation the blind students have been facing. His demand also includes a respectable and needed blind institution to accommodate all those blind children (students) who intend to join the studies. The present blind institutions in Roop Nagar can accommodate only 25 students who get boarding, lodging upto 5th Class. There are more than 20,000 blind children in the state below the age of 10 who have every civil and fundamental right to receive education as is provided to 25 children only at present. This blind institution started in 1956 with 25 seats by the government in a hired building in Amphala, Jammu, which was moved to the present institute in 2001 without increasing seats. The number of seats for the eligible children should be made available.
