Bar rules out new election till July | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT SRINAGAR, April 22: The High Court Bar Association has ruled out new elections to elect new body till July 2011. The decision was taken during executive committee meeting of the Bar which was held at Sadder Court complex here today. The meeting was presided over by Bar president Mian Abdul Qayoom. “In the meeting all the members expressed confidence in Mian Qayoom and G N Shaheen and decided that the present executive body shall continue till July 31. It was also decided that elections would be held in July for electing new body,” a spokesperson of the Bar said in a statement. “The meeting also observed that supremacy and sanctity of judiciary is under threat due to the hedonic.
