Police to encourage young footballers: ADGP | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, April 22: To promote most loved game of football in the state, Jammu and Kashmir Police have planned to encourage young and budding players in a big way. This was stated by Additional Director General of Police, Armed and Law and Order, K Rajendra Kumar while speaking to young footballers gathered to take part in an event organised by the Police in association with Iqbal Sports Club at Gulshan Ground here this afternoon. “We will lay emphasis on giving the young children, in the age group of 13-16 years, a chance to take part in sports and excel. In this regard, police would conduct special camps by inviting Jammu boys at Srinagar in summer and Kashmir boys in Jammu in winters,” said the ADGP.Earlier, divided into four teams of two coaching centers of GGM Science College and Mini Stadium, Parade as also from Rajesh AFC Academy and Tarandeep Academy, these boys played friendly matches at a specially marked small ground. As part of encouragement to the budding talent, police also gave away sports material to these clubs and felicitated the promoters of these clubs and coaches of the centers. On the occasion, Iqbal Sports Club also felicitated international football player from Jammu, Arun Malhotra for his support to the game.
