Peerzada reviews progress of under construction school buildings | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, APRIL 22: Minister for Education, Peezada Mohammad Syed today chaired a meeting convened to review the pace and progress of construction works initiated by Education Department under SSA and RMSA. The Minister directed the officers to expedite the execution of ongoing works under SSA and RMSA and also sought a status report of incomplete works. Minister said education is among the priority sectors of the Government and impressed upon officers to ensure better facilities and education opportunities to the students enrolled in Government schools. He said building is primary need for functioning of a school and directed all the CEOs to identify land for construction of Model Schools and Girls Hostels in educationally backward areas in their respective districts. He directed Directors of School Education Jammu/Kashmir to monitor the construction work of the school buildings coming up in far-flung areas and ensure that the works are completed within stipulated time. Regarding timber shortage, the Minister asked the officers to take up the matter with higher ups of the Forest Department so that projects taken up are completed timely. The Minister directed State Project Director, SSA to submit detailed report of the construction of KGBV along with expenditure and utilization certificates so that further funds are sought from the Centre.
