HC stays communication treating doctors selected for PG course on study leave | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Apr 22: Justice Sunil Hali of the state high court today stayed a government communication treating doctors selected to undergo PG medical courses on study leave. The court directive came in two petitions filed by 10 doctors, selected to undergo PG medical courses in GMC and SMC, against the March 29, 2011, government communication, which treated them on study leave. Justice Hali issued notice to state through commissioner/secretary, health and medical education department, directors health services, Jammu and Srinagar, and principals of GMCs in Jammu and Srinagar. The notice is returnable within four weeks. He ordered that till the next date of hearing, the impugned communication would remain stayed subject to the condition that the petitioners would furnish an undertaking before the competent authority that in case they failed in the petition, they would reimburse the pay and allowances drawn by them. Justice Hali said the petitioners would be provisionally relieved to join GMCs in Jammu and Srinagar and clarified that this direction was subject to objection from the other side. --------------------------------------------------------------------
