Workshop on biodiversity conservation organized | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, April 23: Central Government Pensioners’ Welfare Association, J&K organized a workshop-cum-debate on the theme of ‘Biodiversity Conservation’ at Maharaja Hari Singh Agricultural Collegiate School Nagbani (MHAC) under National Environment Awareness Campaign, a World Wide Fund For Nature(WWF) Project, sponsored by Government of India: Ministry of Environment & Forests. Resource persons for the workshop comprised P.P.Sharma, former Principal Chief Conservator Forests who also was the Chief Guest on the occasion; V.P.Sharma & J.K.Vaid, former Directors Geological Survey of India. The function was presided over by the Principal, Yogesh Khosla and the proceedings were conducted by Ms.Bedi, Bio-Faculty of the School. Eight Senior Secondary students of the School, 5 girls and 3 boys, participated in the debate on the theme with nearly 150 pupils as the audience, besides a good number of Association members, special invitees and the school faculty. Chief Guest gave away the prizes to the student participants in the debate. Yogesh Khosla in his presidential address thanked the Association for choosing their Institute as venue for holding such an important environmental debate cum workshop.
