Tawi Trekkers to felicitate 70 persons today | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, April 23: Celebrating its 28th anniversary, Tawi Trekkers, J&K shall be honouring about 70 persons including mountaineers, sport climbers, trekkers as also institutions for promoting adventure activities in the state in a function to be held here tomorrow. The main attraction of the prize distribution function shall, however, be Ram Singh Slathia, Harjot Kour, Stanzin Youthog and Sprawling Buds School, Jammu. While Ram Singh of J&K Police shall be awarded for climbing Everest in 2008 and Shivling in 2010, Stanzin Youthog shall be honoured for becoming the first Indian female climber to scale Shivling peak last year. Harjot Kour, the first sport climber of the state to represent the country in the Asian Youth Championship at Japan in 2008 and Sprawling Buds School, Jammu which has been aggressively promoting adventure activities for the last four years shall also be honoured on the occasion. “A souvenir of the club shall also be released on the occasion. Besides, the trekkers from various institutions shall entertain the audience with a variety of dance items,” general secretary of the Club, Ram Khajuria told .
