| SDSS clarifies on Samiti’s elections | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Jammu, Apr 23: Sadhu Dharamasthan Surakshini Samiti has clarified that the election to the president of the Samiti has already been withheld about a month earlier.
In a press statement issued here today, it said that Mahant Sangrand Giri ji has been unanimously elected as president of the samiti and he has also constituted the office bearers and members of the working committee.
Hence holding of any election by some disgruntled elements will be illegal. In view of move by some Mahants to play farce of fresh elections, the president and other office bearer of the samiti had filled a petition before the munsif magistrate for stay of any election of the samiti.
The court granted stay against any fresh election of the samiti today. The samiti has warned against any violation of the court order by anybody, stating that the same will involve contempt of the court and the samiti will file the suit against any defaulter.
