Industries minister for revival of Bari Brahmana, Pampore joinery mills | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Apr 23: Industries and Commerce Minister Surjeet Singh Salathia on Saturday called for adopting innovative approach to fully revive J & K Industries and make it profitable and commercially viable entity. Chairing 147th meeting of Board of Directors of J K Industries, the Minister asked its management to evolve efficient and visionary strategy in line with market trends and consumer interests to better the functioning of the corporation. Minister of State for Industries While deliberating on the revival plan of joinery mills at Bari Brahmana and Pampore, Salathia called for engaging consultants of national repute to chalk out pragmatic proposals for revival of these units. It was given out in the meeting that an amount of Rs. 3.60 crore has been earmarked for the revival of these units. Briefing the meeting, the Managing Director, J & K Industries Mohammad Amin Bhat said that the Corporation has brought 638 persons under the GHS/VRS involving an amount of Rs.50.24 crore. As many as 314 persons have been paid in full involving an amount of Rs. 23.41 crores, he added. Bhat said pending claims of. 135 persons accounting for an amount of Rs. 11.35 cr would also be distributed shortly. He said the monthly wage bill of the Corporation has come down to Rs 8.35 crore from Rs 15.63 crore. He said efforts are underway to decrease it further, which he said would go a long way in improving the financial health of the State.
