YHAI to organise 4th national heritage trek | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Apr 23: Youth Hostels Association of India (YHAI) is organising 4th National Heritage Trek from April 28 to July 10, 2011 from Udhampur to Mantalai via Karimchi temples, Pancheri forests, Sankri Devta. Nathatop, Sanasar, Patnitop, Gauri Kund and Sudh Mahadev. State Director, Adventure Promotion K. K. Gandotra said that famous Mughal route shall be open for the trekkers during this year in addition to nature study-cum-trekking camps at Gulmarg. He said that it was in the vision of Mohammed Shafi Pandit, National President, Youth Hostels Association of India and S. P. Verma that the programme was initiated in 2007. Gandotra further explained that the fee charged per trekker for participation in the National Heritage Trek is Rs. 2,500 but the Youth Hostels Association of India is providing concession to the youth of Jammu & Kashmir State. Youth Hostels Association of India is providing 50% concession to school students and 40% concession to the students of Colleges / universities and they are required to pay Rs. 1250 and Rs. 1500 respectively. He further explained that in addition to the National Heritage Trek, Nature Study camp shall also be organised at Patnitop to facilitate the students and- youth to understand, enjoy and love nature.
