Work on PMGSY projects going on at slow pace: Harsh | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Apr 23: National Panthers Party (NPP) MLA Harsh Dev Singh has expressed concern over the slow pace of various PMGSY schemes in the state and the utter failure of the Public Works Department in ensuring time bound execution of various centrally sponsored schemes. In a statement, Singh has said that government is interested more in making tall announcements and in media but there is wide gap between the claims made and the delivery recorded on the ground. He said that majority of the schemes have remained confined to papers only with no tangible output having been recorded on the ground. Singh flayed the government for its poor performance and extremely slow pace in implementation of PMGSY, NABARD and ADB sponsored projects in the state. He regretted that the J&K has been declared as the tail-ender in the country in implementing PMGSY schemes. He said that pace of execution of roads under PMGSY was extremely slow with several roads projects lingering for years together despite the Government of India guidelines stipulating nine months to one year period for their construction and completion.
