Don’t curtail Amarnath Yatra period: Sena | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Apr 23: Shiv Sena (Hindustan) has expressed concern over the move by the government to curtail the annual pilgrimage to holy Amarnath shrine in Kashmir valley. Addressing a press conference, Sena chairman Vipin Hindu and president Dimpy Kohli said that curtailing Yatra period will not be allowed and any move in this regard would be resisted. He said that administration is interfering in the religious issue and it will not be allowed. Sena has said that curbing period of Yatra will not only deprive thousands of pilgrims from fulfilling their religious duty but will affect thousands of people who are directly and indirectly linked with the Yatra as it provides employment to thousands of people. Sena has also demanded that trucks carrying Langer material be exempted from toll tax at Lakhanpur and railways should also give concession to the pilgrims visiting the shrine”. Others who spoke on the occasion included, Ashok Sharma, Sunita Raina, Renu Bhan, and Maheshwar Thakur.
