| BJP leader among 2 held for selling chopper tickets in black | | |
JAMMU: Police today arrested a BJP leader and an employee of Global Aviation Company, which provides air services from Katra town to the holy cave shrine of Mata Vaishno Devi in Trikuta Hills, for allegedly selling helicopter tickets in black.
They were identified as BJP leader Rajesh Gupta and aviation company employee Babbar.Nearly 30 helicopter tickets were recovered from Rajesh at the time of his arrest, police sources said.
While actual rate of a ticket was Rs 700, they were selling it to pilgrims for Rs 2,500 to Rs 3,000, the sources added.A case was registered against them under sections 420, 504 and 506 of RPC at Katra police station. Earlier, several pilgrims and locals staged a demonstration against the company over the issue of black-marketing of tickets. |
