| Thief flees from police custody, SGC suspended | | |
JAMMU: A selection grade cop was placed under suspension after a handcuffed thief fled from the custody of Domana police here today.
Sunil Kumar of Reasi was caught by people after he broke into a house at Domana at about 4 am. He was later handed over to police. During interrogation, he allegedly disclosed to cops the identity of his accomplice, who lived at Rajpura, Bakshi Nagar, police sources said.With his help, cops later raided the house of his accomplice Bablu and arrested him too.
While they were being taken towards the vehicle, Sunil, who wore a pair of handcuffs, managed to flee, the sources added. SGC Ratan Lal was suspended in this connection. Sources said Sunil had not been arrested till late tonight. |
