EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, April 24:
Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) has decided to strengthen its ‘losing’ cadre and base in Northern India including the state of Jammu and Kashmir."BSP will reach out to common masses to strengthen its roots across the northern states of the country in the coming days, including J&K to expose the policies of the NC-Congress coalition government," Narinder Kashyap, BSP general secretary told reporters at a press conference here today.Kashyap said, "Due to our own drawbacks, BSP could not represent itself as a mainstream party but now we will focus on building up the party in northen parts of the ountry.”“On the directions of our national president and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati, the party has decided to cement its base and the cadre as well…. Following her guidelines, BSP would hold a mass rally of its cadre including the office bearers and the workers on May 29 at Chandigarh,” he addedThe BSP leader said the rally will be addressed by Mayawati and the step has been taken with an attempt to strengthen party’s overall position across the country to curb corruption, unemployment, terrorism, naxalism and infiltration.
Kashyap said, “BSP has decided to reach out to common masses so as to address them in a better way by strengthening its position….Both UPA and NDA governments have not succeeded in tackling the major issues of the country while National Conference-Congress coalition in Jammu Kashmir has failed in understanding people's aspirations.”"BSP is people's party and without reaching out to them, it is impossible to address their grievances following which we have decided to give a new shape to our policies," he added.
