Self-rule self contradictory, amid at dividing people: Mangat

To equip all District and Sub District Hospitals with modern diagnostic and treatment facilities and specialized doctors, government is contemplating to pool resource and generate adequate funds for ensuring high grade medicare facilities and treatment in government hospitals. Minister for Health and Medical Education, Pt. Mangat Ram Sharma stated this while inaugurating Rs. 13 lakh RCH block in the Sub-District Hospital Akhnoor today.
Mr. Sharma said that all PHCs will be equipped with Dental chairs and Dental Surgeons to benefit the rural masses. He said a uniform policy will be adopted to regularize adhoc appointees. He said B Grade surgeon will be made available in different disciplines to cope up the shortage of surgeons till formal recruitment is made.
He said that for upgrading and improving the Sub District Hospital Akhnoor Rs. 4 crore proposal has been prepared which is expected to be implemented in next two years. In addition Rs. 17 Lakh Gynecology ward is also in progress.
Decision to acquire land near Government Medical College Jammu for construction of super specialty hospital has been taken in a meeting held under the chairmanship of Chief Minister, Mr. Ghulam Nabi Azad. He said that government has accepted the demands of posting of SDM at Akhnoor for convenience of backward and migrant people.
Mr. Sharma inaugurated a Free Eye Camp organized by the Viklang CHHATRA Trust in Collaboration with Directorate of Health Department District Blindness and Sant Nirankari mission Akhnoor. He also honoured the doctors, writers, social workers and prominent citizens who rendered valuable services in different fields.
He also released a souvenir of the trust titled “100 free eye camps-1980-2006”
MLA Akhnoor, Mr. Sham Lal Sharma, Director Health Services Dr. Jasbir Singh. also addressed on the occasion.
Director Health Jammu Dr. Jasbir Singh, Principal Government Medical College Jammu , Mumtaz Goni Director Principal Ascoms Dr. S.S Sudan were present on the occasion. Chief Medical officer Jammu, BMO Akhnoor, Doctor’s faculty, President Viklang Shatra trust, Prominent citizens and a large number of people attended the function.
Later, speaking to local representatives of media Mr. Mangat Ram said that India is largest democracy and all states enjoy self rule but some politicians in J&K exploiting people on one pretext or other are bent upon to divide the state on the behest of foreign elements which is not acceptable to the people of the state and the country as well, Mr. Sharma asked the people to strengthen the hands of secular forces in struggle of restoration of peace, prosperity and over all development of the state. He asked them to ensure mass participation in the birthday celebration of Late Prime Minister Smt. Indira Gandhi on 19th of November at Parade ground Jammu.
