State’s relation with Indian Union gets weakened: BJP | Interlocutors’ recommendations | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, April 24: A series of meetings of BJP activists of Jammu East, Jammu West, Gandhi Nagar, Nagrota and Raipur- Domana mandals were held today to chalk out further course of action in view of the reported move of Centre’s Interlocutors to recommend some concessions for the state in order to appease a particular section. The party leaders, while addressing these meetings, said that the state is passing through critical turmoil as the Interlocutors seems to be working on an agenda which has the potential of weakening the State’s relation with the Indian Union. They said that the party cadres have to be vigilant and prepared for waging a massive struggle against such moves. “We have made sacrifices for full integration of the state and shall continue to do so till our mission is not achieved”, they declared and warned the Congress-led UPA to not accept any such formula which may invite wrath of the nationalist people. The party activists, while assuring full support to the party for its stand against any such move, said that no force on earth can reverse the process of integration of the state or take the state back to pre-1953 position. While Dr Nirmal Singh and Mamta Singh chaired meetings at Lakhanpur, Mahanpur and Basohli, Ashok Khajuria and Chander Mohan Sharma chaired meeting of Jammu East Mandal. Ashok Khajuria also shared dais with Dr Jitendra Singh at Gandhi Nagar. Similarly Sat Sharma, Usha Choudhary and Jugal Kishore Sharma jointly chaired meetings of Nagrota, Raipur-Domana and Jammu West Mandals at different places. Jammu Mahanagar Distt President Rajesh Gupta and Akhnoor district president Suraj Padha were prominent among other speakers in these meetings.
