4/24/2011 10:08:05 PM
EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, April 24: A deputation of All India Backward Classes (AIBC) met with interlocutors and informed them the hardships being faced by the OBC's.
The delegation said that OBCs are still been deprived of 27% reservation in Jammu and Kashmir even after Apex Court's Judgement 20 years back.
The delegation further said that the foremost duty of the successive State Governments including the present Coalition Government was to grant due constitutional rights to the OBCs of the state.
Instead of implementing Mandal Report of 1992, Government has implemented Anand Committee report of 1980 already superceded by the Apex Court's Judgement.
The deputation raised several demands including enhancement of reservation from 2% to 27%, enhancement of creamy layer from 3 Lakh to 6 lakh and one certificate on the name of OBC instead of OSC meant for both State and Centre.
