Bhalla launches Rs 23 lakh deep drain project at Qasim Nagar | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, April 24: Reiterating Government’s determination for providing better basic amenities to the people of the State, Minister for Revenue, Relief and Rehabilitation, Raman Bhalla said today that Government has introduced several modern projects across the State to meet the basic requirements of the people, adding worth crores of rupees have been earmarked for construction of new flyovers, tube wells, receiving stations and roads. This was stated by the Minister while addressing a large gathering after launching deep drain project costing Rs. 23 lakh at Qasim Nagar, here this morning. Bhalla said Government has taken several innovative measures for improving the living standard of the people especially those residing in peripheral areas of the State. He said fulfilling of people’s aspirations and developmental needs is top agenda of the Government. He assured the people that all their genuine demands and development needs would be fulfilled in a phased manner adding that there is no constraint of funds in providing the adequate basic amenities to the people of three regions. The Minister stressed upon the concerned engineers and officers to redouble their efforts and accelerate pace of all ongoing works in the area for completion before inset of rainy season. He directed them to use of quality material in execution of the works, adding that the objective of the Government is to build concrete basic infrastructure for providing better civic facilities to the people. Bhalla said peace is pre-requisite for making Jammu and Kashmir a model State of the country. He said people’s cooperation is imperative for the Government to make the State a prosperous one.
