Yatra curtailment done under pressure: PK | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, April 24: Panun Kashmir (PK) has condemns the decision of the Shri Amaranth Shrine Board to reduce the period of the Amaranth Yatra by 15 days this year. Pandit organisation has alleged that the decision has been taken by the board under pressure of the Kashmir centric political parties and the secessionist elements. “The Hindu fraternity will not accept this decision and a nationwide protest programmes have been lunched in this connection by the people having faith in the age-old tradition of the Yatra”, said PK president Ashwani Kumar Chrungoo at Pune. He said that Kashmir is a national mission for the organisation. “All attempts aimed at making valley hostage to the politics of blackmail in the name of the so-called self-determination, self rule or Azadi cut at the very roots of Indian nationalism”, he said. Ashwani said that community stands committed to their demand of the establishment of Homeland in the valley as it remains the only option for the displaced community to resettle in their ancestral habitat. “The Pandits have rightful claim on the territory of Kashmir and community is thankful to the countrymen who stood by them in their most difficult times, but they ought to come forward in this struggle to take it to the logical conclusion”, he said. PK has launched ‘Kashmir Sankalp Yatra’, which left Jammu on April 13 and visited Mumbai and Pune over the last one week. A statement issued by the pandit body says that the main purpose of the Yatra is to create awareness among the people about the issues relating to Kashmir.
