Jail Superintendent of Kot Bhalwal Central Jail Sheikh Abdul Rashid on Friday came out in the open against senior officers of the Prison department and blamed them for hatching a conspiracy against him.
Talking to media on Friday, despite clear cut instructions from the state Home department not to talk to media, Rashid leveled charges against three officers for joining hands to ensure his ouster from the central jail.
He alleged that one senior officer of the prisons depatment had also demanded a sum of Rs 2 lakh to confirm his appointment as Kot Bhalwal Jail Superintendent but he declined .
He said, "i am being vicitmised as i took a lid off their worng doings and exposed their nexus with militants who were virtually running a parallel government from inside the jail premises".
Rashid said, he will consult DG Prisons MK Mohanty before deciding his next course of action whether to go on protest leave or continue with his war against the corrupt in the system.
Rashid also made pointed references towards the conduct of these three officers and said when they failed to rope him they hatched a conspiracy against him.
He said, jail staff was hand in glove with militants who were running a parallel governmen from inside the jail when Gurdeep Singh was jail superintendent. He said, i also also targeted for stopping payment of bills related to purchase of items of daily use and medicine for jail inmates.
He said, instead of holding an inquiry these officers went out of their way and assured well connected businessmen not to worry soon they will replace me from the cetral jail. He said ever since he had exposed their nexus his family is running for cover as even militants had issued threats to kill him for failing to protect their cadre inside the central jail. |
