Employees complete preparations for Apr 26 strike

JAMMU, Apr 25: Government Employees Joint Action Committee (GEJAC) today claimed unwavering support of the employees across the state for striking work on April 26 against stubbornness of government in accepting their demands.
Campaign teams of GEJAC who went to different offices across Jammu district expressed satisfaction with the response of the working class regarding enforcement of one day Kaam Chhod hartal on April 26, 2011. They said that operational emergency services viz medical, PHE, electricity and the staff on Panchayat election duty shall remain exempted from the purview of the strike.
The press conference was addressed by Jaswant Singh and Prem Bawa. They pointed out that government has started playing mischief to weaken the unity of employees and of late, they have started creating unnecessary confusion amongst the employees in order to sabotage the proposed strike. Leaders stressed upon all the leaders and employees not to fall prey to such tactics of the government.
Members of the GEJAC spearheading the programme include Subhash Verma, Amrik Singh, Sushil Sudan, Ganesh Khajuria, Gafoor Dar, Suresh Sharma, Satish Sharma, Ravi Singh Bhau, Joginder Pal, Jarnail Khokhar , Sawaran Singh, Sanjay AbroJ, mohd. Farooq, Rattan Doshi, Suman Sharma, Uttam Chand, Vinod Sharma, Baldev Singh, Surjit Singh, Jagdish Khokhar, Satish Dutta, Mangat Ram Parihar, Atar Singh" Sukhbir Singh, Bushan S. Verma, Maheshwar Sharma, Darshan Sharma, C.K. Sudan, K.C. Dubey, Purshotam Sharma, Gopal Singh, Anoop Sharma and Anil Mehta.
Meanwhile, hundreds of Anganwari workers and helpers under the banner of J&K Anganwari workers and helpers union organized protest rally in front of Directorate Social Welfare Jammu. Protest was organized to press authorities for immediate release of promotion list of supervisors from graduate Anganwari Workers which is being delayed intentionally by department for the last 4 years under one pretext or the other.
Addressing the rally, Mohd Gafoor Dar state president J&K National Trade Union Front warned the authorities of Social Welfare Department not to delay these issues any more otherwise the consequences if any shall be on the shoulders of the authorities. Others who addressed the rally included Suman Suri, Hanifa Gagroo, Renu Sharma, Savita Kakar, Parveen Akhter, Razina Akhter, Kiran Bala and others
