| CII organises industrial tour for the MBA students | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, April 25: To bridge the gap between the things taught in the institutes and the basic practical knowledge required by the industries, Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), J & K State Council organised a two-day industrial visit for the MBA students of The Business School, Jammu University, Jammu to some of the best corporate houses of the country like TVS Motors Company Ltd., Vardhman Group & LG India Ltd.
Students visited the manufacturing plant of TVS Motors Company in Nalagarh, District Solan of Himachal Pradesh. TVS Motor Company is India's premier two-wheeler manufacturer company and has established this manufacturing facility in Himachal Pradesh in the year 2006.
Students also visited two manufacturing plants of Vardhman Group namely Auro Spinning and Auro Dyeing located at Baddi, District Solan of Himachal Pradesh.
IMJS Sidhu, President & Director of Vardhman Group, Baddi and Aswini Sharma, Vice president & Head H R Auro Spinning, Baddi interacted with the students and shared the management practices followed by the the Group.
Students also got a chance to visit the Regional Headquarter, Northern Region of LG India one of the largest consumer durables companies operational in the country, where they interacted with Deepak Jasrotia, Regional Manager North, LG India who shared the best practices followed by the Korean Giant organization was shared with them.
During the visit the students were acquainted to the organizational structure, production processes, functioning of various technical departments, measures taken to preserve the environment.
The visit comprised of about 25 students of The Business School Jammu University , Jammu and 15 students of the Kathua campus of The Business School, represented by Prof B C Sharma, Dean Students Placements, University of Jammu, Jammu.
