NC-Cong coalition adopts anti-tribal policy: JKTUF | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Apr 25: Jammu and Kashmir Tribal United Forum (TUF) today accused coalition government of adopting anti-tribal policy and discriminatory attitude. In a press statement issued here today, TUF criticized anti-tribal stance of the successive governments and expressed serious concern over deep-rooted discrimination with the employees and other senior officers of Scheduled tribes in every department. He flayed the government for deliberately discouraging most efficient officers of tribal communities by pre-maturely transferring them just to please some administratively weaker and indicted officers. Giving the detail of kinds of discrimination being faced by the tribal officers, Roshan Din Choudhary, Chief of tribal forum cited an example of pre-mature transfer of Chief Engineer, EM&RE, Jammu and Development Commissioner Power, J&K who for being from the tribal communities has been removed within seven months of assuming their present offices. Demanding immediate revocation of the transfer orders of these two senior most engineers of tribal communities in power development department, Choudhary also questioned the government, what performance bar has been kept vis-à-vis the appreciation is marked, if any, for better performing officers. Zabeer Ahmed Bajjar, general secretary of the forum, while expressing his resentment over multi-faceted discrimination with Gujjars said that instead of getting their problems ameliorated, the suffering and grievances of the tribal communities particularly the gujjars have piled. Others present in the press conference included Tanwir Ahmed, Advocate Tanzir Khatana, Advocate Pervaiz Choduhary, Khursheed-UI-lslam, Sardar Khan and Abdul Hamid.
