J&K govt sponsoring turmoil, says SDP leader | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Apr 26: Jammu and Kashmir is epicenter of corruption and recent cross voting against huge bribe in state legislative council elections is just a reflection of the part of the whole. This was stated by Socialistic Democratic Party (SDP) president Dr Darakhshan Andrabi while addressing a press conference here today. She was accompanied by Abhay Singh Wazir, Ajay Kumar, Sardar Gursagar Singh, Munish Kumar and Vishal Chowdhury. Doubting authenticity of the recently held Legislative Council elections, Dr Darakhshan Andrabi said that after the establishment of the corruption involved in the voting process, results should have been quashed. “Huge funds are allotted to J&K under central government schemes and 80 percent of the funds go into the pockets of concerned politicians and bureaucrats. Poor labourers and the beneficiaries for whom these schemes are meant do not even get wages or small benefits but concerned implementers fatten their properties and accounts by this public money”, said Darakhshan Andrabi. Dr Darakhshan said “Despite the people’s immense mandate to the democratic set up from time to time, our politicians are hell bent upon creating disillusionment in public by deceiving them through mismanagement, loot and corruption beyond imagination. She said that there are allegations of corruption on majority of the ministers and MLAs of the ruling alliance but not a single probe is allowed to be initiated.
