Early Times Report
JAMMU, Apr 26: Jammu and Kashmir government has again taken up the issue of creation of 3,000 more posts for youths belonging to Kashmiri Pandit community under the Prime Minister's employment package for the displaced people.
Initially under the Prime Minister Employment package for displaced families, 3000 posts were to be kept in the central sector and remaining 3,000 in the state sector meaning that the centre had to pay for the 3,000 posts and state to bear the wage bill for its share. But the state government had conveyed to the centre its inability to bear the wage bill for 3,000 posts and requested that all the 6,000 posts be kept in the central sector.
Minister for Revenue Raman Bhalla, said that he had taken up the issue with the central government again and hoped that centre would accept J&K’s request shortly. In reply to a question, Bhalla said that concerned government agencies were identifying other posts so that more displaced youths could be given jobs under the return policy.
When the recruiting agencies had been asked to notify the posts, State Subordinate Services Selection Board and the Public Service Commission had notified 2045 posts. When the posts were advertised, 16,000 unemployed youth belonging to the displaced families applied for the posts and 1900 were selected.
Recruiting agencies had identified 1760 posts in the Education Department, 234 posts in Social Welfare,190 in Relief Organization,191 in Finance Department,500 in Engineering Departments,35 in Health Department,90 in Revenue Department and 15 in the Department of Tourism. Minister confirmed that after about 1800 boys and girls belonging to displaced families, who joined their duties in Kashmir, felt happy and safe.
