| Pamma, Soni joint winner in Katra Kundrorian title | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, April 26: With main bout remained undecided even after 40-minute long dilly dallying battle between Pamma of Derra Baba Nanak in Punjab and Soni of Ludhiana, the organizers declared the fighting wrestlers joint winner of the Annual Katra Kundrorian Kesri Dangal that took place at Kundrorian in Katra.
Both the top wrestlers were given away a cash prize of Rs 21,000 by chief guest, state secretary BSP, Rakesh Wazir, who was accompanied by president, J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association, Shiv Kumar Sharma, Major DJ Singh and SDPO Katra, PN Tikku.
In all, 40 bouts were played in this day-long dangal which was organised by Kun Drorian Dangal Committee under the aegis of J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association.
In the second main bout, Himachal Kesari, Palla beat Sona of Amritsar, while fourth main bout remained undecided between Shinda of Ludhiana and Mohd Akram of Jammu. The fifth bout, took place between Ballu of Dera Baba Nanak and Bobri of Shiv Mandir Akhara Jammu, again ended in a draw.
Members and technical officials who helped for conduct of this dangal included Karnail Singh, Ganesh Singh, Pappu lakri, Shanker Singh, Joginder Singh, Naresh Kumar, Bansi Lal,, Ved Parkash Singh, Mohd Fareed, Vijay Singh (Biju) and karnail singh,Pt Sohan Lal and Inder Paul.
Other Results: Bhutto of Jammu beat Raju of Jindrah, Liqat Ali of Panthal beat Rahul of Nawasher, Bucha of Jammu beat Goga, Gopal Sharma of Jindrah beat Deepu of Nawasher, Narinder of Jammu beat Billa of Jindrah, Kuldeep Singh beat Sonu of Jindrah, Liqat Ali beat Kuldeep of Jindrah, Sadiq of Jammu beat Kuldeep of Jindrah, Sadiq Ali of Jammu beat Manga of Ludhiana. Bouts between Amir Khan and Prittam Singh, Billu of Jindrah and Karnail Singh and Kharppa and Surjeet Singh ended in a draw.
Speaking to the wrestlers, chief guest, Rakesh Wazir complimented Kundrorian Dangal Committee for making dangal a regular feature.
