Police will continue its efforts to eradicate militancy: Sahai | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Srinagar, Apr 25 (KNS): Inspector General of Police, Kashmir Range, S M Sahai, Tuesday, said that his force was trying hard to eradicate militancy from the Valley. On the wreath-laying ceremony of the two policemen killed on city outskirts last night, the IGP told reporters that Police will not deter to offer ‘supreme sacrifices’ for the country and will continue to work to eradicate militancy from Kashmir. “Militancy is zero in Srinagar city. The militants present in rural areas are trying hard to sneak into the city. However, police is vigilant and militants have no option but to retreat,” he said. “Though it has been contained to a large extent, yet our fight will go on till it doesn’t vanish permanently,” he added. Last night militants killed head Constable Abdul Khaliq and Constable Farooq Ahmed and injured Ghulam Mohi-ud-Din critically when they were moving towards Nowgam police station.
