BJP against grant of pre-1953 status to J&K | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, April 26: In continuation of its campaign launched against reported move of the Center’s interlocutors to recommend grant of pre-1953 position to the state, BJP organized series of meetings of party activists at Samba, Vijaypur, Reasi, Khour and Jammu West madals, which were chaired and addressed by party leaders. BJP State Vice-President Chander Prakash Ganga along with State General Secretary Satish Sharma addressed two meetings at Samba and Vijaypur. National Executive member & Chief spokesperson Dr. Jitendra Singh and BJYM National Vice-President Pawan Khajuria addressed meeting at Reasi. Similarly, State General Secretary Sat Sharma (C.A.) addressed meetings at Khour and Jourian. Party senior leader Chander Mohan Sharma and State Secretary Surinder Sharma addressed meeting of Jammu West Mandal. The BJP leaders, while addressing these meetings, said that the reported move of the 3-member team of Interlocutors appointed by the Congress-led UPA is a serious matter. Such a move, if implemented, would prove to be very dangerous and pave way for weakening of entire Indian state apart from weakening its sovereignty over Jammu and Kashmir. Led by BJP, a large section of the population of the state has been unceasingly struggling and working for fuller integration with the rest of the country and thereby strengthen and cement the secular and plurastic ethos of the state. Reverting state to pre-1953 state would only strengthen divisive and communal forces in the state. Not only this, it would also demoralize nationalist people in the state, which the BJP would never allow to happen.
