Transporters demand withdrawal of taxes

JAMMU, April 26:
All Jammu and Kashmir Transport Welfare Association expressed concern over the levy of various taxes and fees on transporters of Jammu and Kashmir State.
Addressing media persons here today, Anil Chopra, vice president of the association said being a very important source of Income to the state exchequer, this transport sector become handicapped due to various taxes and fees.
He criticized the attitude of State Govt as well as Central Government, who are not serious about the problem of Transporters.
Chopra said that heavy taxes are being imposed on transporters due to which they are facing losses.
He informed that many times, they approached State Govt for withdrawal of taxes for the welfare of transporters, but nothing has been done.
