CM asks industrialists to employ more locals | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, April 26: Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah Tuesday asked the industrialists to rise to the occasion by way of providing employment to the locals and contributing positively in the efforts of Government to address unemployment crisis. “Nobody is born with skills. You should allow the local youth to learn and grow with you”, he told industrialists emphasizing on expanding the job orbit for young persons in the private sector. Speaking to the representatives of Federation of Industries at a high level meeting here, the Chief Minister directed for constitution of Industrial Advisory Committee to look into the issues relating to the growth and development of this sector. Omar Abdullah said that Government was willing to provide concessions and benefits to the industrialists but the advantage of industrialization should flow to the people at large. “You can expect more benefits in lieu of more employment to the local youth”, he told industrialists assuring full Government support for the growth and development of industrial sector in the State. In response to the demands raised by the federation in the meeting, the Chief Minister said that he had already received a full-fledged memorandum from the Federation listing various demands. “The copies of the memorandum have been circulated to the concerned departments for examination and early action”, the Chief Minister said adding that the implementation of the demands is at various stages of examination and execution. “Government is already on it and you will be informed about the action taken regarding various issues, you have raised in the memorandum”, he added. Speaking in the meeting, Minister for Industries, S. S. Slathia pinpointed the help and incentives Industries Department has extended to the industrialists in the State to grow and expand.
