Omar approves multi-level parking complexes in Jammu

JAMMU, April 26:
Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah today give nod to the construction of three multi-level parking complexes in Jammu city to avoid traffic congestion and ensure smooth ply of traffic on various city routes.
The concept paper to this regard was explained by the Jammu Development Authority (JDA) at a meeting chaired by the Chief Minister here.
The proposed three facilities at Bus stand, City chowk and Panjthirthi would be modern parking complexes with basic features of puzzle parking, pit-puzzle parking, over-ground and under-ground parking. The three complexes will have the capacity of parking of 2569 buses and cars.
The Bus stand complex with operational capacity for 1458 buses and cars would involve an expenditure of over Rs. 130 crore while as City chowk complex Rs. 51.17 crore and proposed Panjthirthi complex estimates Rs. 31.30 crore expenditures.
The necessary survey, financial feasibility, project cost, valuation, sensitivity analysis, project structuring, willingness survey results and other aspects have been got analyzed by the JDA for these projects.
Giving brief in the meeting, the Vice Chairman, JDA, Vinod Sharma said that the preparation of concept paper for the approval of the Chief Minister was insecure of his directions at the District Development Board, Jammu for working out plan for multi-tier parking complexes and construction of modern Bus stand in Jammucity.
A PowerPoint presentation about the proposed projects, financial implications and benefits to the public was also made in the meeting.
The Chief Minister directed for examining and approving the modus-operands of the construction modes for the projects in the JDA Board meeting.
Minister of State for Housing and Urban Development, Nasir Aslam Wani, Advisors to the Chief Minister, Mubarak Gul and Devender Singh Rana, Chief Secretary, Madhav Lal and other senior officer were present in the meeting.
