Aman Jyoti Yatra participants present Memorandum of Peace to Governor | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, APRIL 26 Describing youth as the future leaders who have to discharge their responsibility towards nation building in varied fields, the Governor, NN Vohra, today called upon them to spread the message of brotherhood, harmony and peace as these are essential to steering Jammu and Kashmir to recovering its glory and advancing rapidly to achieve prosperity on all fronts. The Governor was interacting with a group of 40 students from various areas of border districts of Rajouri and Poonch who called on him at Raj Bhavan. These students, studying in the 8th to 12th classes and in the age group of 13 to 18 years, are participating in the week long Aman Jyoti Yatra organized by the 25 Inf. Div. of the Army from Poonch to Nagrota near Jammu. The Yatra was flagged off by Major General Om Prakash from Poonch on April 20 and concluded today at Nagrota. The “Aman Jyoti Yatra” organized for spreading the message of peace and harmony passed through Mendhar, Rajouri, Noushera and Suderbani. The Governor interacted with the students and enquired from them about the experience they had gained and their impressions about the Yatra. He asked Brig. Rajeev Sirohi, the senior most Army Officers accompanying the students for organizing an Essay Writing Competition, based on their experience of the Aman Jyoti Yatra, and agreed to suitably reward the top three students whose essays were found to be the best. He congratulated the students for getting associated with such a laudable mission of promoting peace and harmony. The Governor presented gifts to the students and wished them bright future ahead. The students presented a Memorandum of Peace to the Governor on the occasion.
