PIL against Cross-Voting in LC Elections | DB issues notice CS, Secretary LA, BJP MLAs | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, April-26:- In a Public Interest Litigation filed by SOS International, a registered NGO seeking registration of a case under the Prevention of Corruption Act against the 7 BJP MLA for voting in lieu of cash , a division bench of the the High Court J&K High Court comprising Justice Virender Singh and Justice Hasnain Massodi issued notice to all the concerned. In the PIL it has been submitted that leader of opposition PDP has leveled serious allegations against the BJP MLAs. It is further alleged that no action has been taken either by the Govt of India or the State Govt which only means that the conduct of BJP MLAs in receiving gratification “outside the house” does not falls within the purview of the Speaker’s Power. It is further submitted that the ruling alliance may not like to register the case against erring MLAs since it stands to gain because of the conduct of BJP MLAs. It is further submitted that entire episode has assumed preparation of a “political scandal” which needs to be prove through even if it means subjecting the BJP MLAs to Narco Analysis/ Lie-Detector Test. In the PIL it has been submitted that accordingly the CBI may kindly be directed to register the FIR against the BJP MLAs for having indulged in corruption allegedly accepted gratification in cash and in kind.
