1 promoted as IGP, 6 SSPs get supertime scale | | | JAMMU, Apr 26: While a DIG was today promoted as IGP, six SSPs were given supertime IPS scale which clears the way for their promotion to the next rank. The decision to this effect was taken in a screening committee meet held here under the chairmanship of chief secretary. It was attended by home commissioner and DGP, according to official sources. The screening committee also discussed a proposal for the promotion of three IGPs to the rank of additional DGPs, but it was dropped, the sources added. The IGPs included S P Vaid, who at present was on deputation to BPRD, New Delhi, D R Dolley (headquarters) and Naveen Aggarwal (railways). Sources said DIG (armed, Srinagar) Rouful Hassan was made IGP.Six officers of 1998 batch were given supertime IPS scale. They included SSP CID, Jammu, Rajinder Gupta, Manigam PTS principal, SSP Mushtaq Sadiq, SSP SSG, Jammu, Parminder Singh, SSP CID (SB), Srinagar, Javed Riaz, SSP (vigilance, Jammu) Syed Afadul Mujataba and SSP (security, Jammu) Shakil Ahmad Beigh.SSP (railways, Srinagar) Shoukat Hussain Malik's promotion was kept pending as the report of an inquiry, which was initiated against him when he was SSP, Anantnag, was awaited. It may be mentioned that four SSPs of 1997 batch -- Surinder Gupta, Johny William, Ashok Atri and G A Dar -- were placed in the supertime IPS scale some time back.
