EARLY TIMES REPORT
Srinagar, Apr 27
Glorious tributes were paid to renowned religious scholar and commentator of the Holy Quran, Maulana Mustafa Hussain Ansari, on his fifth anniversary on Wednesday.
Majalis and commemorative services were held across Kashmir where speakers recalled the Maulvi Mustafa’s tireless efforts in working for unity among Muslims and addressing misunderstandings between various sects.
A grand congregation was held in Srinagar at Gulistan-e-Baba Mazar, the resting place of Maulana, in which thousands took part.
Valley’s renowned Zakireen, including Tasaduq Hussain, Ali Muhammad Qasmi, Ali Najar, Khwaja Ahmad Ali, Syed Anis Kazmi and Agha Syed Abul Hassan led the majlis into remembering supreme sacrifices of the beloved Prophet (SAW) and his noble family.
Known for his forceful and penetrating discourse, Maulana Mustafa has scores of specialist treatises to his credit, including the first ever Kashmiri commentary of the Holy Quran in several volumes, and biographical works on Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) and Imam Hussain.
Having dedicated his life to scholarly pursuits, Maulana Mustafa was a highly sought-after figure in society at home and outside the state, and was often called in to defuse grave crises involving confrontations arising between sects due to misunderstandings.
Earlier, speakers at a commemorative service held by the Ittehad-ul-Muslimeen (IuM) recalled the Maulana’s tireless efforts in working for unity among Muslims and addressing misunderstandings between various sects.
The president of the IuM, Maulana Masroor Abbas said that Maulana Mustafa had played a sterling role in highlighting pristine Islamic values and had been a living embodiment of the virtues of integrity, learning and fortitude.
