| Iceland FM, Ambassador calls on CM | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, April 27:
The Foreign Minister of Iceland Ossor Skarphedinsson along with Ambassador of that country in India Erickson today called on Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah here.
In an hour long meeting various matters pertaining to the harnessing of thermal energy, tourism, climate change and other developmental sectors were discussed and experience shared.
The Chief Minister apprised the foreign dignitaries about the rich hydro electric, thermal and other non-conventional energy potential of the State. He also threw light on the measures initiated by the State Government for harnessing various energy resources.
Omar Abdullah talked about the development initiatives taken in various sectors to give fillip to the economy and enhance employment orbit for young people in the State.
The dignitaries showed keen interest in the new initiatives taken by the Omer-led coalition government in Jammu and Kashmir for generation of hydro electric energy and harnessing new and renewable energy resources.
They also evinced interest in the State Government’s measures for capacity building and skills development in youth and efforts for restoring State’s pristine tourism glory.
