Parshuram Jayanti on May 5 | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, April 27: Dogra Brahman Pratinidhi Sabha (DBPS) today finalized the arrangement for Bhagwan Shri Parshuram Jayanti to be held on May 5. Addressing media persons, Sabha’s spokesperson and general secretary Shakti Dutt Sharma said that ‘Maad Bhagvvat Katha Saptaha’ is going to be organized at Parade Ground by Raj Guru Mahamandleshwar Shri Shri 1008, Shri Swami Vishwatma Nand Saraswati Ji from May 1. He said that Kalash Yatra from Raghunath Mandir to Parade ground will also be taken out on the Parshuram Jayanti which falls on May 5. Giving further information, he said that Akshya Tritiya is falling on May 6 so the Yagnopavit Sanskar ceremony will take place on that day under the supervision of Dr Chander Mouli Raina and Pt Mool Raj Malhan. Speaking on the occasion, president of the Sabha Ved Parkash Sharma said that Brahman Community is expecting from the Chief Minister and the Governor to declare the day of Parshuram Jayanti as holiday. He disclosed that a committee has been formed to make the programme successful with the members included Prof Devinder Sharma, Chander Mohan Sharma, Inderjeet Khajuria, Surinder Sharma, Satya Nand, Shanker Dutt. S S Baru, Rajesh Bittu, V R Baru, Jagan Nath, Shiv Ram and Sangeet Mishra. Those who attended the meeting included Virender Magotra, Satpal Sharma, Master Ram Pal Sharma, Gurdas Sharma, Deepak Sharma, Jagdish Dogra and Mohan Lal Sharma. |
