| Regularization of 400 odd sr lecturers challenged | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Apr 27: In a petition, school education department lecturers, who were appointed through PSC, have challenged government order NO 129-EDU dated February 24, 2011, by virtue of
which the respondents were promoted as senior lecturers "illegally and in drogation" to the mandate and spirit laid down by Supreme Court.
In this case, Justice Hasnain Masoodi of high court issued notice to commissioner/secretary school
education department and director school education, Jammu.The court permitted the petitioner to serve the notice on private respondents through its publication.
The court also directed the respondents to finalize the seniority list of lecturers working in education
department in accordance with the rules and effect the promotions in accordance with seniority list so prepared. In the petition, it was submitted that about 400 lecturers/senior lecturers were regularized beyond DPC quota from 1992 to 1998.
