Seminar on Women Empowerment organized | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, April 27: The Directorate of Field Publicity, Government of India in coordination with Project officer ICDS Satwari at Beli- Charana organized a seminar on ‘Women Empowerment’ here today. The speakers expressed grave concern over the continuous practice of female feticide and decreasing female growth in the country including in J&K state while Anganwadi workers drawn from Doda and Rajouri migrant camp called upon the government to strictly adhere to the ban on sex-determination test in order to maintain proper balance in sex ratio which is declining fast as per latest Census indicators. Kamlesh from Doda, Nirmal from Rajouri , Ravinder Kour from Beli charana- all Anganwadi workers and Hardeep Kour, Neelam and Parveen Kumari-supervisors spoke on the occasion and urged upon the civil society to come forward in mitigating the suffering of female sex in order to bring them at par with men-folk. Bharti Sharma CDPO-Satwari presided over the function and underlined the importance of literacy among girls to shun all the social evils from the society. Paramjeet Kour, Corporator Satwari Cantt, who was the chief guest exhorted the womenfolk to lead the Nation in overall development of the country
