Government officials are usually involved in the election process: JKNPP | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, April27: A delegation of Jammu & Kashmir National Panthers Party today submitted the copy of complaint against Subash Chander Dogra Tehsildar Relief Jammu, Kulbhushan, Chief Accounts Officer (Tourism) and Tara Nath, Lecturer Govt. Degree College (Boys) Udhampur to the office of Chief Electoral Officer, J&K State, Jammu. The prominent who were present in the delegation include Raghubir Billoria, Pushvinder Singh Manhas, Thakur Vilakshan Singh, S D Khajuria, Kamal Singh, Satish Gupta and Ravinder Jamwal. A protest demonstration was also held their to show the anger against those government officials who were involved and interfered in the election process of counting by trespassing into the counting Hall at Birnu, Block Ghordi, District Udhampur. Addressing the media persons at Vikas Bhawan outside the office of Chief Electoral Officer, J&K State, Jammu, Pushvinder Singh Manhas (State Vice President, Young Panthers) said that it very shameful and very unfortunate that the government officials are usually involved in the election process and trying to help their beloved candidates either by going out of law. He mentioned that three government officers namely Subash Chander Dogra Tehsildar Relief Jammu, Kulbhushan, Chief Accounts Officer (Tourism) and Tara Nath, Lecturer Govt. Degree College (Boys) Udhampur actively participated in Election process and political campaign of one Prem Nath, a contesting candidate for the election of sarpanch for Birnu Panchayat of Ghordi Block of Distt. Udhampur. They alleged that on April 25 the said officers trespassed into the counting Hall at Birnu and started interfering in the counting process. They harassed and intimidated the counting staff on duty and also persuaded the counting officers/officials on duty to reject dozens of valid votes of Hans Raj, a contesting candidate. Hans Raj who had won the election by a huge margin was also harassed and threatened. Singh further said that the aforesaid officers, who were supposed to be on duty in Jammu and elsewhere, violated all norms, rules and other election laws and interfered with the election process. He urged Chief Electoral Officer that the delinquents in the present case, being government servants, needed to be dealt law.
