EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, April 27:
The Shopkeepers of Purani Mandi area today staged a protest demonstration against the alleged inordinate delay in constructing the dug up roads of the bazaar.
Led by their president Jung Bahadur Sharma, the members of Purani Mandi Businessmen Association raised anti-administration and anti-ERA slogans for the pathetic condition of the roads.
The members alleged that due to the poor condition of the roads their business is adversely affected adding that dug up roads are also causing health hazards for the residents of the area.
The shopkeepers said that they are waiting for the repair of the dug roads for the last four months but so far nothing has been done.
The protesters warned the authorities to complete the repair of the roads within 2-3 days otherwise they will carry on the protest continuously and the consequences faced would be the responsibility of the Government only.
