JK Cements to open 300 TPD capacity plant at Samba | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, April 28: The Jammu and Kashmir Cements Ltd under its expansion plan has decided to open 300 TPD capacity Plant at Samba. The establishment of the proposed plant, estimated to cost Rs 26.96 crore, was approved at the 94th Board of Directors meeting chaired by the Minister for Industries and Commerce. The Board of directors after a threadbare discussion on the plan proposal of the plant accorded approval and asked the Managing Director to come up with proposal of financial closure. The meeting was told that the report from the consultants MS Ercon has been received and the project is likely to be completed in sixteen months. Speaking on the occasion, the Minister, who is also the Chairman of the Board, asked the management to work with more vigour to achieve the targets set for the current year. He stressed for better planning and quality production for attaining financial stability of the company. He also suggested for cutting the company’s overheads for better financial management. The Managing Director gave a detailed resume of the achievements of JK Cement. About the company’s plan at Khrew, he said that efforts are being made to maximize the production and achieve better results. He informed that the breakdown of some critical machinery at the plant experienced earlier has been rectified and the production at the plant has been resumed. The meeting was also attended by Minister of State for Industries and Commerce Dr Manohar Lal Sharma, Commissioner Secretary Industries and Commerce Umang Narula, I&C Secretary Technical, PDD, Director Perspective Planning and other senior officers. .
