| 10 Kgs Charas recovered, 4 arrested | | | Banihal, Nov 18 Police recovered 10 Kgs Charas and arrested four drug smugglers in Banihal area of district Doda, late on Friday evening. Station House Officer Banihal Abid Rafiquee told News Agency of Kashmir that acting on specific information police laid a naka at Kharpora Banihal along the Jammu-Kashmir National Highway, late last evening. The naka party intercepted a Maruti Car, JK02E-6883, which was on its way from Bijbehara to Jammu. On checking of the vehicles the police recovered Charas weighting about 10 Kgs, which was allegedly being smuggled to Jammu. “The accused had to transfer the consignment to Jammu from where it was to be smuggled to Delhi”, he said. All the four persons traveling in the car were taken into custody and the vehicle was also seized on the spot. “We are questioning the accused about the involvement of other persons in the drug trafficking”, the SHO added. The accused persons arrested from the spot have been identified as Reyaz Ahmed son of Abdul Gani Rather resident of Tantraypora, Banihal, Reyaz Ahmed Najar son of M. Amin Nagar resident of Sangam, Bijbehara, Mukhtiar Ahmed son of Ghulam Muhammad Ahangar resident of New Colony, Bijbehara and Javeed Malik son of Shams-ud-Din resident of Doligam, Banihal. |
