Addressing a meeting various speakers and activists of Parishad said that most of the ETT colleges are running illegally in the state and violating the basic norms as most of them don’t have infrastructure or teaching staff. They alleged that more than 45,000 students are appearing for the first year’s exams of the elementary teachers training course and most of the students have never attended any of the classes. It is being conducted by few individuals who have active help from some board officials. “People have made it a sort of business and these degrees are being distributed as per the higher prices which a candidate gives. There is total violation of the rules which govern these ETT institutes”, Parishad has said. The student body has warned that if their demands are not met, they will start a mass agitation against these institutions and would expose the nexus of the BOSE with some individuals who are running these fake institutes. It has also demanded a investigation, why some of the institutions who have no building or any other facility being able to function, with no action taken against them. ABVP has appealed to the Chief Minister to intervene and order a probe in the entire issue which has become a major challenge for the reforming the education sector.
