Natrang to present comedy play
4/28/2011 8:51:09 PM
EARLY TIMES REPORT
Jammu, April 28: Natrang in association with AIRCEL is going to present World Classic Comedy, Indian adaptation of French playwright Moliere’s, ‘The Bourgeois Gentleman’ in the name of ‘Kava Chala Hans Ki Chaal’.Addressing a press conference, Natrang Director Balwant Thakur said that Divisional Commissioner Pawan Kotwal will be the Chief Guest on the occasion and it will be staged on April 29 at General Zorawar Singh auditorium. Directed by Sumeet Sharma, a post-graduate in Dramatics, this globally acknowledged and all time contemporary comedy was written by Moliere in the year 1670 and the most praiseworthy feature is that the play is even more relevant in the present day situation. A beautiful satire on the overnight riches, the play revolves around a person who suddenly becomes rich and does all foolish things to be recognized at par with the so-called higher class. He applies himself to learning the gentlemanly arts of fencing, dancing, music and philosophy, despite his age; in doing so, he continually manages to make a fool of himself. The climax reaches when he is prompted to have a Royal Lady friend and for that he is befooled of his money to the maximum extent. This is not the first occasion when Natrang is bringing the World classics to the city of Jammu. In the year 1995 Natrang produced yet another hilarious comedy of Moliere ‘The Miser’ in the name of ‘Kanjoos’ which ran pack houses in Jammu and at the National level for over fifteen years. The lead actors who will feature on the opening day of the show i.e., include Anil Tickoo, Sunita Pandit, Pawan Verma, Tajasvi Sharma, Mohit Sharma, Gaurav Triyal, Rajani Bhatti, Vijay Goswami, Chitra Thapper, , Niharaka Sharma, Shifali Gupta, Vikram Sharma, Charanjeet Bhardwaj, Sunil Sharma, and Aatish Gupta
