Little Flower School in semis of U-16 cricket | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT AKHNOOR, April 28: Little Flower School today qualified for the semi-finals of the ongoing under-16 cricket tournament, organised by Akhnoor Tehsil Cricket Committee at Government Higher Secondary School, here. In the third quarterfinal of the day, Little Flower defeated Chander Bhaga Higher Secondary School Akhnoor by a big margin of 73 runs. Earlier, batting first, after winning the toss, Littler Flower set a target of 136 runs for the loss of nine wickets in the allotted 20 overs, which, in reply, Chander Bhaga could not chase and bowled out for just 62 runs in 11 overs. Abitesh Sharma was top scorer with 24-ball 51 runs while Deepak and Rajesh contributed 14 and 11 runs respectively. From Chander Bhaga, Vikas clinched three wickets, followed by Vipul and Anil, who shared two each. Batting second, Chander Bhaga lost all their wickets for just 62 runs in 11 overs. Vikas was top scorer with 32 runs while no other batsman could enter the double figure mark. From Little Flower, Akash Gupta claimed four wickets while Vinod bagged one. For his all-round performance, Abitash Sharma was declared man of the match. Today’s match was officiated by Rajinder and Ranjeet Singh while Jimmy Magotra maintained score. Meanwhile, Kamleshwar Cricket Club and Army School Akhnoor have already made it to the semi-finals.
